joint pain? i have what i believe to be joint pain in my thumb,it feels like my joints hurt....i went to the doctor and he did inflammatory marker tests which came back negative....do you think i could be feeling another pain that i am thinking is joint pain,maybe nerve pain or something?........

How long should it take for joint pain to subside following an attack by yellow jackets? I was stung several times about 2 months ago, and developed minor joint pain about 2 weeks later. The pain has intensified over time, and has become more constant. I would estimate that I was stung between 20 and 30 times. Most were in my calves and ancles. Although several sources claim that yellow jackets do not leave a stinger, I know for a fact that these were yellow jackets, and I had six stingers left inside. Two in my right leg, and one each in my left leg, each arm, and left side. The joint pain was in my knees, hips, shoulders, and elbows. My knees and hips are ok now, but my shoulders and especially my elbows have continued to worsen. Any suggestions?

Is there such a thing as traveling joint pain? I am a 54 year old male. Every day I have what I can only describe as traveling joint pain. It can be from mild to severe. An example would be two days ago, I had pain in my right hip, so bad that I had trouble putting weight on my leg. Yesterday the pain was gone. Today, I have pain in both of my wrists. The discomfort usually last a day in each joint and sometimes travels from one joint to its complimentry joint. A short time ago, I had pain in my left shoulder and muscle spasms up the left side of my neck. Two days later the pain was in my right shoulder. I am also tired most of the time. I tried walking a mile or 2 each day but it has been painful. I have had a number of sports injuries in the areas where I get most of the pain.

I had X-rays and an MRI which didn't reveal anything more than slight swelling in my SI joints. My orthopedic doctor gave me some medicine to reduce the swelling and prescribed physical therapy.
