Are pain relief tablets safe to eat when taken out of their bottles? I'm planning to take a few pain relief pills (Tylenol, Motrin) out of their bottles and putting them in a sealed Ziploc bag for convenience. Does taking them out of their bottles reduce the effectiveness of the pills? Are they still safe to eat? I figure it will be okay because they will still be put into a sealed bag, but any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How would you compare Naproxen to Hydrocodone for pain relief? I recently had some Hydrocod-APAP 325mgs from my motor vehicle accident, but recently ran out. I found some Naproxen 500mg in my medicine cabinet and wanted to ask experienced people's opinions on how the pain relief feels different. I understand that Hydrocodone is an opiate analegic and Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory, but I would still like to see how people compare the 2.
Where would I find the actual size of the pain relief market? I need to forecast and estimate the size of the entire global pain relief market (OTC) for my marketing project. My professor said to go look in NAICS or industry info for it, but everything costs money. Is there any free websites that would provide me this info?

Is topical application of pain relief balm is harmful for my baby? I am 18 weeks pregnant. Sometimes I experience a stabbing pain in my right side lower back, which does not allow me to walk or to move. The pain is like joint paint between two bones (as there is some deficiency of lubricant between the two bones). I am using Omnigel and getting relief. But I am anxious and want to know whether it has any bad effect on my baby. Please throw some light on this.

Why are some people against using pain relief in labour? There seem to be 3 views on this issue. The first is that all pharmaceutical pain relief is bad, and that mothers that use is are selfish. The second view is that moderate pain relief is fine. The third is that the more medication you can get the better. My question is this - to those who hold the first view - why are you so opposed to using pain relief? It doesnt harm the baby, and makes the expectant mother's job easier, thus making the babies life easier, right? Or am I wrong on this? If it was harmful to the baby, surely they wouldnt prescribe it. SO why NOT use pain relief? I particularly want to hear from expectant mothers or others who oppose the use of pain relief. i am pregnant with my 2nd child. With my first i didnt know i was in labour (long story) so i didnt go to hospital until v.late, and by then it was too late for epidural. The contractions were unspeakably painful, so much so that i just pushed too early, in an attempt to end the agony, and i ended up tearing in 3 places ... and for a month i couldnt pee without being in agony. I was traumatised by the whole experience and am now morbidly fearful of going into labour again.... i feel like crying now just thinking about the whole thing
Can I make final pain relief decision during labour? I am researching like crazy, but can't fully decide what pain relief I want for labour. Can I make the final decision during labour, depending on the pain? This is my first child and I'm starting to get really nervous. I'm going to talk about this with the doctor at my next appointment, but am interested to hear what you think. I have really bad menstrual cramps when I'm on my period. Is this at all related to how much pain I'll have during labour?
Are there any pain relief remedies for a small gum infection while I wait for my dentist appointment? I suspect I'm suffering from pericoronitis (small, painful gum infection caused by being stubborn and not having my wisdom teeth pulled sooner). I have a dentist appointment but its a ways off and the pain is moderate. Symptoms include: Sharp pain behind and around my bottom left wisdom tooth, pain opening jaw, pain swallowing, aching lower left jaw, and bad breath. I'm getting some relief with 800mg of Motrin 3 times a day with meals but its starting to wear off quicker and I'm afraid to take any more. I've pushed on the tooth and it doesn't hurt, so I'm pretty sure its my gums. I think.
Is an epidural a safe form of pain relief in labor? I am considering using an epidural. My previous children were all born with no pain relief at all. I am having my last and am considering avoiding the pain. I do not want to put myself or the child in harms way.
How effective is entonox (gas & air) as pain relief? I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant with 1st baby and I really would like to give birth without any pain relief. However, if I find myself struggling to cope with the pain I would like to use only gas&air. Anyone who used only that and coped well????
Did anyone go through labour and forget to get pain relief? I just wondered if anyone else found labour so distracting that they couldn't think of anything else, including pain relief. I really wanted to try gas and air and had planned to, and the midwife had some with her that I could have used if I had remembered it existed! I was very quiet and very calm and totally in my own head, and totally just forgot that there was such a thing as pain relief. Has anyone else done this? I know it sounds weird!
Has anyone ever used Tiger Balm pain relief patches? I picked these up at the store this evening for a pulled muscle in my back. The relief was almost instant! I am wondering how long it is safe to use these? I know that they are not treating the problem, only masking the pain. But I am curious how long I can use them? The box says no more than 3 times daily...but for what duration of time? Any and all advice and experience is welcome. Thanks in advance!
What are your views on pain relief during labour? Do you think using pain relief is a good idea? or not? What are your reasons? Which pain relief methods do you think are the best for mother and baby? I am not asking because I want advice and this is not my first pregnancy. I was just interested in everyones views.
What is the best pain relief for shingles? I have shingles to my shoulder, neck and chest. Does anyone have any tips on reducing the pain, i have been perscribed some tablets for the pain and some for the virus itself, but the pain is annoying me now after 1 week. I have used canesten and savlon but both are really for anti-bacterial or anti-fungal use i think.
Teething - How often can you give pain relief? My 13 month old has only 2 teeth and seems to be constantly drooling and finds it hard to settle at night. She wakes up 3-4 times a night and sometimes will settle straight back but othertimes she wakes up again a couple of minutes later, like something is disturbing her. This seems to be every 2-3 nights is ok to give her medicine this frequently, it says on most medications consult a doctor after 7 days, but we all know teething takes longer than that. How often have others given pain relief, is it ok to do it every 2-3 nights for a few months until they all come through?
What will work for pain/itch relief of shingles? I was diagnosed with shingles last Wednesday and the doctor prescribed me Famvir and Lortab 7.5. I want to stop taking the Lortab because it's making me constipated, but Tylenol isn't going to do the trick. I'm allergic to ibuprofen and aspirin too, which really limits my options. The doctor told me not to put anything on the blisters. So is there anything else that I could try for pain relief? They just started itching this morning (which is almost worse than the burning pain in my opinion.) Oh, and my doctor is out of town and the doctor covering for him is terrible (bad experiences before with him) so I can't exactly call asking for a different pain reliever. Thanks for any advice/suggestions in advance!
