Anyone have help with severe arthritis pain?
My husband has been diagnosed with psoriactic arthritis, which means he has psoriasis in his joints and the pain is unbelievable in his feet, ankles and wrists and hands. We have been to rheumatologists and have had several kinds of prescription but nothing has helped. Now they want to try some injections which will cost 1000 dollars a month and is not covered by our insurance. Anyone who has had similiar experience and found some relief please tell me....Serious answers only please..I am desperate to find him some relief. Thank you.

- Digestive Wellness by Elizabeth Lipski has a good discussion of this problem and offers good advice. The Aspirin Alternative is another book with a good program Finally, The Miracle of MSM by Jacob and Lawrence MD tells of a third interesting option in the treatment of this nasty disease. Prescription For Natural Cures is full of interesting advice as well. Good luck!
- Check out www.hufa.org, for two things. Psoriasis, I understand, can be the result of a systemic yeast infestation (I am fighting one myself - with different symptoms). Yogurt and other antifungal foods (candida fungus is yeast) in addition to an anti-yeast (no leavened breads, no fermented food or drink, no mushrooms, etc) diet may help. The doctor can test for this, but has to believe it exists (some don't). Also check out the pain link. This may help relieve some of the pain in the short term, by inhibiting the production of the biochemicals that transmit pain. The library link has info on books that have more info on how insulin overproduction and yeast separately - but acting together - may be responsible for his problems. My best wishes for you both.
