Does anybody know of any ways to lessen arthritis pain?
I was in a bad car accident a few years back. I now have a severe case of arthritis in my knee. I dont want to take meds all the time to dull the pain. I guess I am looking for a good natural treatment or home remedy that really works. Thank you in advance for any info you can give me.

- Naproxen is the best, asprin works to some degree.
- see your doctor he can give meds that willl help you
- well belive it or not but getting in a tanning bed works wonders.
- gentle yoga excersises. You need to join a good class, it will lesson the pain and hopefully help you not to get it in any other joints.
- I do not know about the exact nature of arthritis but golden rules I have learnt from my experoence is never to massage anything but always apply ice packs for 2 to 3 minutes/hour. Have a 5 minutes sitz bath, that is sit in a tub of ice water immersing into water only the area of both hips only and keep thigh and legs and upper body away from water. Do a isometric thigh muscles exercises for 10 seconds and not more than 5 times. And take mild analgesics/antiinflammatory NSAIDs orally.
- My husband has arthritis in his knees and hips from the same reason. Heating pads work for him at night, and aleve works for him during the day. The heating patches he wears to work and he swears by them. Winter makes it especially hard for him due to the cold weather so every night he takes a hot bath. At night we have the thermostat turned up to make our room warmer to ease the pain while he's sleeping...one simple rule of thumb...think heat because it will relieve the pain...as far as pills once again Aleve!
