- Hot would reduce swelling and relieve pain. Have you tried the pain patches or topographical creams like Ben Gay. Also Glucosamine and Chondroitin work you can buy this at Wal Mart or any pharmacy.
- Disclaimer: I have no medical training whatsoever. My answers are based on personal experience. Heat helps to relax the muscles, but ice reduces swelling and inflammation. Alternate. Use an ice pack off and on for 15 minute intervals. Don't leave it on too long because it may cause frostbite. Later on in the day/night, use a heating pad to relieve tension in the surrounding muscles. Again, don't leave it on too long because it may burn the skin. If you can, take ibuprofen for the inflammation and tylenol for the pain. Alternate them every few hours. I'd also suggest seeing a chiropractor for help in keeping the joints mobile. Hope this helps.
- hots better
- It's a personal preference. Anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, aspirin, alleve.. and so on work well.
- I find heat helps my knees. I buy those Heat Wraps, and they help a lot.
- Always avoid all cold things and use hot/ warm things. pl see what suits you. If you are in cold country use all warm things. If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help. Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try. you will have to go for Acupuncture. There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic. Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Acupuncture is ALSO GOOD treatment. I treat RA with our SHREE SWASTHYAYOG THERAPY, but how can you manage pl see. Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds. The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.
