Can a Dr prescribe lortab for severe arthritis in the knees? I have four kids and lots of pain n trouble sleep
My mri showed bone on bone in my knees. I can usually get through part of the day on the arthritis meds, but the pain gets bad at night, and forget sleeping, I toss and turn all night. I had lortab after a hysterectomy, and all was wonderful. Can i get it for the arthritis?

- Yes you can get it but you really need to get that knee replaced if it is bone on bone already. Consider getting a knee replacement set up so you don't have to depend on meds as meds for you problem would really be a temporary solution to a permanent problem. Fix the problem.
- Yes you can-ask your doctor.I take if arthritis in my ankle.
- Yes but it is temporary. The need to do something else. I am in the same boat with the bone on bone. I had my meniscus removed.
- A doctor can prescribe any drug he/she wants. Finding a doctor who will give you pain medication long term is another story. Most doctors require patients to try various acitivities (physical therapy, ice/heat, water exercise) and medications (Advil, Aleve, Celebrex) before prescribing narcotics. Even anti-depressants are used to help control pain. I would consult an orthopedist and see what can be done for your knee. If there's not much of a solution, then find a doctor who will treat your pain. Good luck
