- i had that too especially in my sleep i would wake up from pain and almost scream. i forgot what it was called but i think it is normal and it does go away.
- YES VERY NORMAL! and i monly 5 months and im starting to get them and its when im sleeping.. i hate it! it hurts! but yes it is normal i read it somewhere, of course i can't remember where now! Oh and my doctor told me it was normal, she said to just have somebody rub it out.. and yes it is gonna hurt like nothing else but it will help sooth the pain! good luck hun!
- Very much normal, with all the extra weight on your hips and back, legs are bound to feel the effects!
- Your expanding uterus is probably just pressing on the nerves to your legs. At your next app. talk to the doctor about it.
- It might be that the weight of the baby is pressing down on the sciatic nerve, which runs down your leg. This happens to a lot of women during the latter part of their pregnancy. You should talk to your doctor and see if s/he can do anything to help.
- Yes, it is normal... I had severe pain with both of my pregnancies. My first one, I didn't have the pain until I was 6 months pregnant. Then, when I became pregnant with my second, I had it immediately! My doctor said it was the "wonders of being pregnant!" haha... The only thing that would "help" was to sleep with a pillow wedged between my legs and lay on my left side. I would take tylenol if it got really bad. But it could also be that you are retaining fluid and swelling in your legs. So drink up on water and stay off of your feet for a little while.
- It is very normal. I used to get the worst leg cramps (charlie horse) in the middle of the night. It didn't happen all the time but when it did, wow it hurt!!
- When i was pregnant, i had a muscle spasm in my calf for the first time..i didnt know what it was...but it hurt like hell. i have never felt anything like it. it was really tight and hard and it lasted for about a minute....i only had about 4or 5 throughout my pregnancy and after i delivered, i havent had one since and that was 3 years ago...strange that they occur when your pregnant......
- Very VERY normal during pregnancy. I had that mostly at night, when I was trying to sleep, or if I would happen to take a nap during the day. Sometimes it would happen when I was just sitting watching tv. It hurts to strech it out, but that's the only way I found to get rid of it. The ones in my lower leg was always just like any other charlie horse, you have to walk it off! I also heard an old wives tale about pressing the back of a spoon against the cramp, supposedly it will make the cramp go away, but I never tried it. I think taking in more potassium is supposed to help with it. The only food I can think of off the top of my head with potassium is bannanas. The pains I had in my thighs, and down the backs of my thighs into my knees was a different kind of pain. It was more of a stabbing pain than a cramp like the ones in my calf were. My midwife said that those kinds of pains were caused by the baby and the growing uterus pressing against the sciatic nerve. I don't think anything in particular can be done about that, except to try and change positions. Hopefully, if you move, the baby will move off of that particular nerve. Good luck!
