how to avoid as much as i can the back to gym muscle pain?

Hi I havent been to the gym for 3 weeks planning to go back tomorrow how can I avoid as much as I can muscle pain...how long should I do stretching?

  1. Actually, if your doing weightlifting they have found that stretches right before a workout can cause ligament damage. Do a set of lightweight reps as a warm up instead.
