- none..alll natural is better
- I had an epidural with my 1st and wouldn't even consider giving birth without one. I'm due in April and will definitely get an epidural the 2nd they let me.
- Well you have an option to have an epidural. I had an epidural with my last baby. Made me sick. There are different types of epidurals.
- I had an epidural all three times. It's the only way to fly! You can be totally alert for the birth and all you feel is some pressure. Also, TOTALLY safe for the baby.
- you need to suck it up and take it like a man.... pain relief is for sissies...
- You can get an epidural which numbs you from the waist down ♀
- LOTS OF VODKA jk im a guy but i thaught that was funny
- As much as they can give you !!!
- well i used demeriol and i got an epidoral. but some people dont use any. it was actually my plan not to until i felt the actual pain of it. some people can handle it but i couldnt. I suggest an epidoral if your gonna use anything its wonderful.
- there are epidurels and some type of medication u can give thru ur IV......im gonna try the one wit the IV first and if tha doesnt work to well then im gonna do the epidurel im scared to get an epidurel but if the pain is too um bareable then im jus gonna say F**K it and get one......im due the 3 of feb
- I had Stadol through my IV, which really didn't help too much with the pain, it just relaxed me which made the contrations not as bad. I also had a nerve block, which numbed my birth canal so that I didn't feel the pain of my baby coming out. There were no after effects, and I plan to have these 2 for my upcoming labor.
- I can deal with pain for some odd reason. One thing I can not take is emotional pain. That lasts a lifetime.
- I enjoy natual child birth myself I had an epidural with my first. yah it's painful but it's a better experience. Lie I said yah it hurts but at the same time it a feeling you can't replace. Feeling your baby actually coming out is awesome.
- I find different things work better for different people. I tried gas, which made me sick and then I had an epidural. You can also have Pethadine, which I chose the epidural over. If you can go all natural then good for you! :)
- I had drugs the first time. My baby was trying to come face up and it was bad. The other two were turned right and I didn't have to use any drugs. I think it totally depends on the circumstance. Definitely take Lamaze classes. It really helps you understand what is going on.
- my 2nd daughter i had no drugs, no IV and no episiotomy and used the bradley method, I would highly recommend it. My 1st, I had stadol and it really made me loopey, and made breastfeeding hard because she was also sleepy. It really didn't help with the pain either, just made me sleepy.
- I had three c-sections so I had an epidural and two spinals...but if I would have had vaginal birth I would have went natural...
- It worked amazingly well when my wife gave birth - Accupressure. consult a Good accupressurist in your area. While the husband is standing by next to the birthing wife... along with the coaching, accupressure will work great with it.
- try a hot shower or some gas to start before you get en epidural you can also have pethidine
- Epidural!!! Do not let ppl tell you all the crazy non sense about becoming paralyzed!! A good anesthesiologist will not harm you, the worse thing that might happen is an epi head ache which is common. If you do not want anything put in your spine (btw, it does not hurt, at least not anything like labor pains!!) try nubane. Neither of which harm the baby or you. Congrats and good luck!!
- i took Bradley classes to learn how to reduce & manage pain. i will not get an epidural. they scare me, and are not totally without risk as some think. (the most common side effect: about 1 in 3 women have a drop in BP, which can cause fetal distress by reducing blood flow to the placenta) http://www.kimjames.net/maternal%20risk%20chart.htm#hypotension plus, i want to move around & not be stuck in a bed. that would drive me nuts! i WANT to have a water birth (an "aquadural")
- Natural!!! I only used the gas with both my pregnancies. Heat bags, warm showers and determination will get you through it. Just remember each step of pain is reaping on a closer journey with your child. Good Luck!!!
- I used some sort of narcotics and they worked for a few hours. but they told me they never work as well the second time. So, then i had the the epidural. I was induced, so the contractions were very extreme and it was quite painful. I think it is one of those things where it is probably best to go as long as you can without anything, but to be thankful it is available if you need it. if you give birth without ever needing it, great. Too, if you take it too early it can wear off and then your're in trouble:). In terms of the pain medicine, i wanted that first because it was a lot less of a medicine than a whole spinal block - which the epi is - i hoped to make it through with that. Anyway, different hospitals have a few different ones as standard, so you will want to ask your OB about what they traditionally offer should this be a route you also want to try. As for this time, i hope it goes so fast that i dont need anything, but, if so, i will probably do the same order. Congrats and good luck! Good
- i had an epidural and i didnt feel a thing!. i was laughin n telling stories the whole time. even when i was pushing i felt nothing. in labour for 6 hours. pushed for 15 mins.
